About me

I am passionate about helping people achieve their fitness and lifestyle goals whether it be shifting a few kilos, toning up, slimming down, increasing strength or running your first 5km, marathon or triathlon.

Exercise and nutrition can have a hugely positive impact on your life, happiness and well-being. I can help you become fitter and healthier not just in the short term but create habits which will stay with you in the long term.

I have been involved in sports and fitness all my life – from football, rugby and cricket, to years of martial arts, surfing, windsurfing (instructor level) and snowboarding. In the last 10 years I’ve become an avid runner and completed three Ironman triathlons and eight marathons. Currently I train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, kickboxing and triathlon as well as strength and conditioning.

Having worked in an office for 15 years as a town planner, I’m well aware of how difficult it can be to eat and exercise healthily. Sitting down all day to only get up for a sandwich, the toilet or a meeting has its challenges! But a few simple and easy lifestyle changes can make a big difference and I want to share these with you!

My Approach

I carry out a thorough consultation to find out your exercise history, eating habits and day to day lifestyle in order to build up a detailed picture of your background. This then leads on to and informs the most important subject of what you would like to achieve and why. Gathering all the information about you enables me to tailor a programme specifically for you. Depending on your needs I would always encourage specific and measurable goals to be set (eg reduce waist line to X, improve lean muscle, decrease fat % from X to X).

Once training has started I continually monitor your progress and adapt the programme and exercises accordingly. Every workout is planned, logged and available for you to reference online.

For 1 to1 training a typical workout would be:
10min warm up
30mins TRX resistance/dumbell and/or bodyweight training
10mins boxercise (1 to1 only)
10mins cool down stretch

With 1 to1 clients I carry out assisted stretching (ie I manually stretch you myself) which allows me to check for postural or muscular imbalances and provide exercises or stretches to address any issues I find.

EIF (European Institute of Fitness) Master Trainer, Nutrition Coach and Exercise Specialist

ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) Fitness & Nutrition Coach

REPS Level 3 Personal Trainer / Fitness Instructor’ (Register of Exercise Professionals)

Before Personal Training educated to BA degree and post graduate diploma level
